Waves of Wonder

You have the monsters in the video below or you can have ripples. The wind is the source to the wonderous waves. We salute the source for radio waves, sound waves and ocean waves. When it comes to heat and seismic waves, I wish they were optional.

Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, man will have discovered fire. Teilhard de Chardin.

The Endless Ocean

Waves Are Formed

The height of a wave increases through wind energy and waves of considerable height develop in open oceans if a strong wind blows for several days. The size of a wave depends upon the strength of the wind, the duration of the wind and the distance of open water over which the wind blows. The stronger the wind, the longer it blows and the greater the distance, the more powerful the wave.
The water of the oceans is in constant motion. The gravitational pull of the sun and moon oscillates the surface of the oceans, while the wind fires up the waves.
